Evaluation of a project concerning fall prevention for senior citizens
SENaktiv – targeted training
Safety when walking and standing are the prerequisites for an independent everyday life. Through targeted fall prevention training, the risk of falling can be minimized and independence in old age can be maintained longer.
The project “SENaktiv Sicher im Alter bewegen (Moving Safely in Old Age)” for senior citizens in Lower Austria provides practice-oriented exercises for preventing falls at kick-off events. In advanced movement courses, expert guidance is given to show how everyday motor skills can be improved in the long term.
Development of a concept of evaluation
The researchers of the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences developed an evaluation concept using a mixed-methods-approach, including the dimensions quality, sustainability, usefulness and opportunities for improvement. Based on the data acquired, an evaluation of the events in the period 2018-2019 is prepared.
