The goal is the development of a prototypic interactive learning software that helps students learn to perform observational clinical gate analysis.
The visual appraisal of the pattern of gait is a fundamental instrument for diagnosis and evaluation of therapy, used not only by physiotherapists but also by other professionals in the health system. Appraisal is performed by observing patients walking, from both sides as well as from in front of them and behind them. Educational establishments are often able to offer students only limited contact with patients. For this reason, the project GAIT-Score was initiated. The goal is the development of a prototypic interactive learning software that helps students learn to perform observational clinical gate analysis. Students will have access to a wide variety of patients from orthopaedics, traumatology and neurology in the form of high-speed videos. In addition to various tools, such as time-lapse video and digital forms for evaluation, the software includes expert assessment of all case studies, enabling students to obtain immediate feedback on their work.
