Scientific exchange with South Africa in the field of digital technologies

Research Cooperation

The WTZ programme, which is financed by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF) and implemented by OeAD-GmbH, promotes research stays within the framework of concrete scientific cooperation projects with researchers from a partner country.

Cooperation Austria - South Africa

At the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, researchers are working on new decision-making tools in medicine through digital technologies. Specifically the project deals with semantic integration of health data to facilitate decision making for diagnosis and treatment.

At St. Pölten UAS exists comprehensive expertise in Digital Healthcare and Semantic Data Integration. The research stay of members of the Digital Technologies research group thus contributes to knowledge transfer and promotes internationalisation. The project is a first step towards creating a platform for continuous and intensive research cooperation between the two institutions. The mobility of researchers and students also helps with the building of a network for knowledge transfer.
