The so-called coronavirus crisis poses a multitude of challenges to the various practice fields and areas of Social Work while offering a plethora of learning experiences and new approaches to finding solutions at the same time. Currently, the research on COVID-19 is largely dominated by medical/natural sciences. However, next to health-related issues, massive societal challenges have come up which suggest a dire need for accompanying research by social sciences.
This bachelor project works on closing this gap by seeking for answers to the following central question: How can we envision and implement Social Work within the context of COVID-19 while taking the Global Agenda 2020-2030 into account?
To achieve this objective, existing data from the platform ‘connect-sozial’ and the project Social Work & COVID-19 Crisis is complemented by further empirical research and evaluated by practitioners in a collaborative action research process. Based on the derived results, concrete recommendations for Social Work in Austria are provided.
